Erika feels fortunate to have been called to the healing arts from a very early age. Deeply inspired by dance and by the body’s inherent genius, she named her practice Sacred Garment Healing Arts after Martha Graham’s ringing truth that the body is a sacred garment. It is with this fusion of reverence and play that Erika welcomes you to join her in your own re-creative healing process. Erika brings an uncommon vulnerability to the table, blending her ongoing recovery triumphs into the knowledge and skill she shares with you. It brings her great joy to be a part of the team at Synergy Wellness Center where energy medicine, evolution and connectedness are key ingredients in its holistic vision
Whether facilitating a return to balance after injury/trauma or an enhanced vitality and ease, Erika supports your participation in the process. Engaging somatic awareness on the path towards healing is where her communication strengths lie. Erika’s knowledge about the physical manifestations of the emotional body are one of the earmarks of her work. With a precise application of presence, energy field attunement and touch, she supports you in finding your innate healing resources and a deepened peace in body, heart, mind and spirit.
In practice since 1995, Erika’s extensive areas of training include visionary cranialsacral therapy, dreamwork and the archetypal language of the body, myofascial unwinding, intuitive deep tissue and injury work, somato-emotional release, pre-natal/doula work, Training in Power Academy work and The NIA Technique. Some of the approaches that most inspire her are Chinese 5 element theory, SOMA, Network Spinal Analysis, Body Ecology nutrition, QiGong and radical self-care.
She has a profound gratitude for the lineage of excellence she found in her teachers: Dr. John Giannini at Chicago’s Jung Institute, Brian Utting and his esteemed massage school, Bruno Ducoux, DO and Hugh Milne, DO-pioneers in cranialsacral work, Faye Fitzgerald and The Training in Power Academy, Debbie Rosas and The NIA Technique. Alongside the animal kingdom and divine Love, she sees them as being generous contributors to her own health which, like many things, is best shared.
Erika serves on the faculty of Training in Power Academy and is an ordained Minister with Power of Spirit Church. She enjoys the honor of supporting people and their animals in times of transition-birth, growth, wedding/commitment ceremony, hospice care and passage. With a deep commitment to walking her talk, her practice begins at home where she is nourished by the creative, culinary and meditative arts and by the pure heart of her husky companion, Freyja.
